Glowcraft Films Introduces a Bold New Slate of Virtual Production-Powered Stories

Glowcraft Films begins development of its first slate of indie feature films representing a cross-section of genres to be shot using ARwall’s award-winning virtual production technology, taking advantage of the patented invention’s creative flexibility, speed and efficiency

Los Angeles – May 15, 2025  Glowcraft Films announced today its first slate of feature films, all of which will use parent company ARwall’s award-winning virtual production (VP) technology to bring their far-ranging visions to life, with ARwall’s award-winning staff serving as lead effects team. In addition, Glowcraft principals Rene Amador and Jocelyn Hsu, co-founders of ARwall, themselves a filmmaking team for over twenty years on 470+ projects, will participate on the projects’ creative teams as Executive Producers or Producers. ARwall launched Glowcraft Films late 2024 to co-develop and co-produce film, TV and commercial content using ARwall’s patented and award-winning VP filmmaking inventions. Specializing in producing genre and historical period pieces, the Glowcraft team includes veteran studio executives Mark Rodriguez and Allison Dollar, as well as VFX guru Scott Ross, who also sits on ARwall’s advisory board.

Highlights of Glowcraft’s first slate include martial arts adventure Ninajaverse conceived by popular actor and martial arts star Ernie Reyes, Jr., World War II epic Barrage based on true events from 727 Squared founder Michael Gordon Bennet, scifi action Centaur from Cantina Creative co-founder Sean Cushing and his co-creator Jonah Steinhart, and animated comedic satire Kitten Kaboodle developed by Glowcraft’s AmadorHsu and their co-creator Eric Navarrette, with the pilot originally developed in their writing collective NEWMYTHIC.

Well respected and beloved as an actor and martial artist, Ernie Reyes Jr. marks his first foray into producing his own intellectual property with the feature film, Ninjaverse. His story centers on a noble warrior family secretly living in North Hollywood who must return to a mystical martial arts kingdom to reclaim their castle from an evil dictator.

“I’m thrilled to be partnering with Glowcraft on my debut as an independent filmmaker,” Reyes commented. “As the writer/director of Ninjaverse, I appreciate Glowcraft’s expertise in virtual production which will transform my vision from being impossible to possible. I’m creating a narrative game within a dream that transcends time and space, a journey of self-discovery and battle for artistic freedom. It’s exciting! I’m truly grateful for the Glowcraft team.” Reyes will add the Ninjaverse credit to his famous roles in The Last Dragon, Red Sonja, Sidekicks, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, Surf Ninjas and The Rundown.

Requiring a vast location scope for its epic journey, WWII feature Barrage requires maximum creative speed and flexibility to achieve. Created and produced by 727 Squared, Barrage presents the true story of American soldiers fighting not only the Axis enemy, but also the toxic Jim Crow culture within the U.S. military in their heroic effort to win the war. The film requires the full range of ARwall’s VP software capabilities and Glowcraft’s filmmaking skills to bring the compelling historical narrative to life.

With Glowcraft’s guidance, we're redefining how historical narratives can be visually brought to life,” noted Michael Gordon Bennett, CEO of 727 Squared and
Barrage writer/producer. “‘Barrage represents a watershed moment where virtual production tools become storytelling partners, not just technical solutions. ARwall’s tech breaks down traditional barriers of budget and technical limitations. Glowcraft’s use of ARwall’s virtual production system for Barrage signals a fundamental shift in how we conceptualize, create, and deliver cinematic experiences."

Shifting gears to television, Cantina Creative co-founder Sean Cushing brings his Centaur scifi action series to Glowcraft. Co-written by Cushing and Jonah Steinhart, Centaur takes place in the year 2052 and features far-flung locales and futuristic set pieces. Series locations span not only the Earth - decimated and transformed by superstorms and drought - but also planets and moons beyond.

“I’m thrilled to work with Glowcraft because they’re expanding what’s possible with digital technology,” says Cushing. “We envision
Centaur taking place on a monumental scale. In realizing this series, other independent filmmakers can see the benefit from working with ARwall tech and LED walls.”

Another series in the slate also takes place in a dystopian future, an animated satire with a very different tone and approach. Set in a dystopian world with a dramatic, cartoonish palette, the 30-minute episodes strike diverse, comedic tones, touching on contemporary genres and dark themes. Developed by ARwall co-founders and Glowcraft Executive Producer Rene Amador and President Jocelyn Hsu, with Eric Navarrette, Kitten Kaboodle follows the amazing adventures of Mew, a propagandist at the Ministry of Lawz, at the center of a dark world run by cute evil kittens.

“No show has ever explored the full power of kittens,” Amador elaborated, addressing the project’s mission. “No show has asked the important questions, like: In a dystopian world where humans decline to an inferior species, will our kitten overlords look kindly on us? Will they imitate us or destroy us or both? We seek only to bring awareness to the potential kitten menace."

Our goal for the entire Glowcraft slate: to use all of ARwall’s inventions to their maximum potential to work with the best filmmaking partners on projects that no one else could get made, ensuring these projects break through the clutter,” he concluded. “Jocelyn and I took a nine year break from filmmaking to invent this tech, now we’re going to show audiences something magical.”
