HTC Vive is helping level the field in film making with its first dedicated entry into virtual production intended for filmmakers, Vive Mars. ARFX Pro is created for filmmakers and producers by ARwall filmmakers and developers. We took everything that worked and was requested on our film sets and added it to the ARFX Pro Plugin to work seamlessly and easily within Unreal Engine. The plugin is made specifically for filmmakers, creatives, and environment artists who feel comfortable navigating Unreal Engine, but don’t necessarily want to learn coding, blueprints, or even nDisplay. Use the very same tools that allowed our sets to create award-winning virtual production shots!
You can use up to four base stations in a single VIVE Mars CamTrack setup with an area of up to 10 m x 10 m (32 ft 10 in x 32 ft 10 in). You'll need to set up at least two base stations for minimum tracking coverage.
You can use up to three VIVE Tracker (3.0) units in a VIVE Mars CamTrack setup. You'll need at least two VIVE Tracker (3.0) units for a basic VIVE Mars CamTrack setup—one for your camera, and one for calibration.
Yes, all VIVE Mars hardware (CamTrack, FiZTrack, trackers, and base stations) can be used with the ARFX Pro Plugin for Unreal Engine and makes use of the easy to use ARFX Options Menu.
Yes, the ARFX Launcher natively works with VIVE Mars trackers and base stations without CamTrack. However, compatibility with CamTrack and other Live Link trackers is coming soon!
